Jan’s Pimm’s O’Clock Party

Fundraising a glass to help pals in fight against cancer

proclaimed the Western Gazette reporting on Jan’s party, writes Bas

It was a great success.  The raffle alone raised over £700 and Barclays Bank will match the total raised up to £750.

According to the paper:-

Mrs Ridout said ” I like Pimm’s and was planning on having a party anyway so I then decided we’d use it as a fundraiser.

“We had so many passers by stop off and make donations and have a glass of Pimm’s or buy a raffle ticket. I’ve never had so many strangers at my home.”

An appeal for raffle prizes resulted in donations from local attractions, businesses, and local people. Tamburino’s restaurant in Yeovil kept the party well fed by donating large pizzas.

Final total raised £2100!

Well done Jan and all concerned. Brilliant!
